Lamda is a kind of temperate Phage,Which can proceed in either lysogeny(later lytic) or directly lytic phase.The dicision of choosing one of the life cycle is under the control of two genes coding for Repressor & Cro protein. Always repressor induce lysogeny where as Cro induce lytic mode of life cycle.In otherwords the fine regulation depends upon nutrient conditions of Bacteria.
Gene regulation in lamda phage is very interesting .will you write more on Super Infection Resistant,i hope you will be kind enough.
