Virus for Wasp Existence & Evolution

According to Peter Madawar,Viruses were considered as collection of extreme selfish genes(bad news),wrapped in a protein coat. But recent study done by researchers explored the ever unseen side of virus involvement in the evolution of wasp species.

Viruses are now exploring at their extreme level of role in evolution. One such example can be seen in a wasp, which rely on the Caterpillar to nourish its eggs. The phenomenon is very interesting, where a virus is responsible for the existence of wasp population in the Nature.

When wasp injecting its eggs in to the Caterpillar, it also injects virus particles. These virus particles are known as Ichnemoid calyx fluid like particles. These viral particles involves in the process which is similar to immunecompromisation, which in other words prevents the caterpillars immune system to raise the antibodies against the eggs injected by the wasp.

In the course of evolution these virus particles drive themselves under natural selection in association with the wasp. And thereby they are very much vital for the propagation of wasp population.Researchers are now predicting its a kind of Endogenous virus which hibernates(Persist/latent) in the wasp genome.

P.Medawars view on Virus is not acceptable now, finally researchers change the view of VIRUS as world seen them.
